Going into the Test match against South Africa at St. George's Park in Port Elizabeth, India has a few problems in the batting front to deal with. A reliable opening pair is a pressing issue, and by the time India start batting at St. George's Park, we might very well see any one of Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman or Deep Dasgupta walking out with Shiv Sunder Das. In spite of the opening woes, India has a bulging middle order that should make bowlers run for cover. The interesting story is, through the years, Indian batsmen have failed miserably in the second innings, the crucial time to save or win a Test match for the team.
