Rain Rules

Australian rain rule (since 1992/93)

The Australian Rain Rule is calculated for the team batting second by taking the highest scoring overs of the team batting first and deducting it by 0.5% for each over lost.

This rule has been implemented since the 1992-93 season and is based on results of the 1991-92 World Cup, whereby had this rule been in place, the matches would have been equally shared between the team batting first and the team batting second. Contributed by Travis (
