CricInfo is an irc Bot (a program) acting as an interactive gateway
to a database for all things "cricketty". Commands to CricInfo (CI)
are issued by msg (/msg cricinfo .......) although CI may 
respond via notice, msg, and/or dcc depending on your request and
connection status. If you are using a Unix client, as most people
are, CricInfo will insist that you open a dcc chat connection (CI
will show you what to type) before talking to it.
There is a broad range of articles on CricInfo: These include old
and new scorecards, schedules, statistics, humour, tour
itineraries, match summaries, Test match information (back to
1876), profiles of grounds and players, help on irc, match
reports and more !! :-)
As with any database, CI is only as useful as its files: You will 
be encouraged to contribute. Suggestions as to how you might help
with the maintenance/collation of this database are given in the
help directory (/msg cricinfo helpfiles/). The main level help is
available through /msg cricinfo help. Other files you may find
useful straight away are (/msg cricinfo ..) help commands, index,
help-on-help and help dcc chat.
