  • Virender Sehwag's 309 is now his best performance in test cricket. It bettered his previous best of 195, which he made against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. In the process, he also became the first Indian cricketer to score a triple hundred in test cricket.

  • Sehwag's 309 also became the highest Individual test score at Multan Cricket Stadium. It bettered the previous highest score of 138, which Inzamam-ul-Haq made against Bangladesh in 2003.

  • The 336-run stand between Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar is now the highest 3rd wicket partnership for India. It bettered the previous record of 316-runs, which GR Viswanath and Yashpal Sharma put together in the 1981-82 Chennai test against England.

  • The Sachin Tendulkar-Virender Sehwag partnership of 336 runs is also the highest 3rd wicket partnership at the Multan Cricket Stadium. The previous highest was the 80-run stand between Inzamam-ul-Haq and Taufeeq Umar.

  • India's total of 675 for 5, is now their highest total against Pakistan. It bettered the previous highest of 539 for 9, which they scored in the 1960-61 Madras test.

  • India's total of 675 for 5 is now the highest total at the Multan Cricket Stadium. It bettered the previous highest of 546 for 3, which Pakistan scored against Bangladesh in 2001-02.

  • India's total of 675 for 5 is the highest score made by any team visiting Pakistan. The previous highest by any visiting team was 617, which Australia scored in the 1979-80 Faisalabad test against Pakistan.

  • Yesterday was only the second time in test history that two Indian batsman made more than 175 in the same innings of a test match. The first instance of such a feat was when VVS Laxman made 281 and Rahul Dravid made 180 against Australia at Calcutta.

  • Yesterday's 1 for 204 was only the second time that Saqlain Mushtaq had conceded more than 200 runs in a test inning. The only other time he had conceded more than 200 runs in a test inning was in the 2002-03 Cape Town test against South Africa, where he conceded 237 runs and picked up 3 wickets.
