Rohit makes it count
Rohit Sharma was on 6 when he attempted to clear long-off against Yuvraj Singh. He didn't get hold off it cleanly, but VRV Singh failed to take a not-so-difficult catch and conceded a six as well. Rohit went on to score a quickfire fifty, and had it not been for Shaun Marsh and Kumar Sangakkara, it could have well been a match-winning knock.
Sangakkara's fiery return
Kumar Sangakkara had missed five matches due to a rib injury, and he seemed intent on making up in this innings. Sangakkara teed off from the start, and with Shaun Marsh continuing his great run, the Deccan Chargers' bowlers couldn't do much to stop them.
After the opening blitz from Sangakkara and Marsh, Punjab were coasting along towards victory. However, some late wickets left them needing 21 off the final two overs. An economical over could have spelt doom, but Scott Styris was carted for two sixes - first by Piyush Chawla and then Mahela Jayawardene. From there, Punjab won at a canter.
