Two men from two ends of the country, both in contention for a World Cup slot, possibly at the exclusion of the other. Yet, the way they bowled in tandem was as heartening to India as the south west monsoon is to the bone-dry tracts of Saurashtra. Munaf went for runs in the early overs, largely as a result of streaky shots, but his line and length were impeccable. He was able to create some disconcerting bounce too and was unlucky not to have increased his wicket tally. Sreesanth, on his part, was impressive after his first few overs maintaining the immaculate seam position which had rewarded him so well in South Africa recently.
