There has been speculation in the media that Jacques Kallis may be committed to South Africa for much of the 2000 English season following a possible amendment to the timings of the Springbok tour of Sri Lanka. That tour might now be brought forward to include June, as well as July and August.

Glamorgan captain Matthew Maynard said, "We`ve heard stories about South Africa`s tour, but we haven`t had anything confirmed. I think it would be unwise to speculate until we have been given more information. I will be speaking to our Secretary Mike Fatkin and we hope to hear more about Jacques` position in the next few days."

Glamorgan have confirmed their provisional fixture list for 2000, which includes a three day fixture against the West Indians, floodlit matches at Edgbaston and Cardiff, as well as two limited overs contests at Swansea, plus another Championship contest at Colwyn Bay
