THE 2002 NATIONAL COACHING SEMINAR

Fielding Guru Gary Palmer to lead Welsh Cricket's National Seminar

Coaches from all over Wales will be attending the National Coaching Seminar on October 6th at Llandrindod Wells High School. The key speaker and practitioner will be Gary Palmer who last year led the World Champions in several specialist fielding drills sessions.

Palmer, ex - Somerset CCC, now acts as an itinerant coach advising groups and cricketers all over the UK. At this session he will be demonstrating and discussing exciting and fresh approaches to coaching fielding and helping make coaching sessions come alive for young children.

The day is aimed at cricket coaches with a view to help them sharpen up some of their understanding and coaching styles when they return to coach today's young cricketers. Director of Cricket Mark Frost said:

"We are really pleased that Gary is so keen to meet and assist coaches operating in clubs and regions. I know many are looking forward to being challenged as Gary's approach is fast and innovative!"

The Seminar will start at 10am on Sunday 6th October and will be held at Llandrindod Wells High School. Inclusive cost (lunch and morning coffee) is 8 per head.

All applications to Brian Crockett, 51 Pine Valley, Cwmavon, Port Talbot, SA12 9NF, 01639 892232.
