YOUTH SPORTS ON THE SPORT AND TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE MENU

With sports properties turning to younger audiences to grow their reach at a time when the latter are being distracted by other forms of entertainment, it is now more important than ever to assess the impact that technology can have when it comes to growing fan bases.

Brands, technology providers and sports properties will be discussing their experiences and sharing their insights during a youth sports panel session at Sport and Technology: The Conference 2009, in association with BT Media and Broadcast. Now in its fifth year, the highly-acclaimed event will be returning to BT Centre in London on 4 June

‘Using technology to engage younger sports audiences - Gadgets v Grassroots’ will feature Alistair Kirkwood, Managing Director of NFL UK, Ed Elworthy, Head of Brand Connections at Nike UK and Ireland, Matthew Patten, Chief Executive of The Lord’s Taverners and Tim Boden, Client Director for BT London 2012, BT Public Sector. The industry experts will be joined by Max Adams, a sports-mad pupil from Trent College, Nottingham, who will be outlining both how he uses technology on a day-to-day basis and how he follows sport.

Utilising a mixture of panel discussions, keynote addresses and showcase presentations, Sport and Technology: The Conference has continued to attract a wide range of high profile speakers from both technology companies and sports properties.

Confirmed speakers include representatives from BetFred, BetNOW, BT London 2012, BT Media and Broadcast, Chelsea Digital Media, Cisco Media Solutions, Football League Interactive, Major Events International, NFL UK, Nike UK and Ireland, PA Sport, Ricoh Arena, Scotcomms Technology Group, Simply Sports, SportBusiness Group, STATS Inc, Tottenham Hotspur, Trent College, UEFA, Wembley Stadium and XL Communications.
