In Remembrance of Mark Prescott

Mark Prescott always had a talent for design and worked for a local origination/DTP company before setting up Zimbabwe's first fully-fledged Web-design company, CyberMedia. A subsidiary company of Samara Services, Zimbabwe's Internet Service Provider to the Zimbabwe Cricket Union, Mark through CyberMedia played a significant role in establishing and developing Web design in Zimbabwe.

Mark's first sporting love was Formula One motor racing, but cricket came a close second! He was quite passionate about CricInfo, and was always sorry that he could not devote sufficient time to it because he was in such demand from the commercial clients that he needed to keep his business going.

Mark created the new design for the Zimbabwe cricket pages after the Zimbabwe Cricket Union became an official site hosted by CricInfo. He was an enthusiastic Apple Macintosh computer user and always kept up-to-date with HTML and design software. We were looking forward to his creativity as the Internet develops in Zimbabwe - along, we hope, with Zimbabwe cricket.

Mark was 32 years old when he died tragically in a car accident, and he leaves behind a 19-month-old daughter and a wife who is expecting their second child early in 1999.

All those of us who worked with him in Zimbabwe, and across the Internet through CricInfo, will remember his energy and hard work and will miss the contribution he made. We all offer our sincere condolences to his family.
