Player: Most Runs or Wickets without playing a Test

The batsman and bowler to have scored the most runs and taken
most wickets without ever playing in a test match were from the
same county, Glamorgan.

Alan Jones scored 34,056 runs from 1957 to 1983. Don Shepherd
took 2,174 wickets from 1950 to 1972. Neither of them played for
England.

Jones played for 'England' against the Rest of the World in one
match in 1970. It was regarded as a Test at the time.
It's subsequent down-grading made this coincidence possible.
