To everyone who is after women's stats.. We are slowly getting all the stats up for all womens tests at the moment. As you can probably imagine, it is taking a while, but we hope to have all womens test and ODI stats up by the start of the World Cup. I'm sorry I can't give you exact figures now, but it is a slow process. Cheers Di

Answer to jaydeep's question on scorecards ... There is a small book entitled "99 not out" giving official scorecards of the first 99 Test Matches played (that's almost all to date). There is, as far as I know, nothing similar for ODIs. However, I am building a database currently and will try and help with any particular cards you might want (are they all here on CricInfo?) Just email me ( for details on how to get the book. Am on holiday shortly so you may wait to get an answer.

Thank you for the opportunity. My little girl, Chanri, is in grade 6 at Rustenburg primary school. From the age of four, she adores cricket and is watching all the games she can. Because of her adoration of the game, she wish to play for her school, but is forbidden to do so, because the constitution of the North West cricket Union, does not allow girls to play in a boys team. That is according to the cricket coach. If I look at the principles on which the United Cricket Board of South Africa is founded on, it is totally unacceptable and I quote: "The participation of all inhabitants of South Africa in cricket without cistinction based on colour, race, creed, religion or sex." Could you be so kind in responding to me, regarding this issue, or do you think I am out of line, expecting the school to give her a fair chance in playing the game? Expectantly Yours Hein Austin A Caring Father

Why are the South African Womens Cricket team not at the Super Sport show? They are participating in the Womens World Cup 2000 in Nov/Dec in New Zealand. I think they have the right to be at such a show just like the men, to give out autographs and talk to people about womens cricket...

Hello As a player myself I am very encouraged to hear of the focus that is being put on the development of womens cricket.I have been playing since I was 5 years old I am now 17, when I first started playing I had to play with the boys and was the only girl playing cricket at the club that I belonged to. Now there is hundreds of girls playing and they are getting to play in teams with girls and against girls. This shows that something is being done right and as a player that is good to see. I myself coach two girls teams at my school and really enjoy watching how much fun they are having. I think it is good to see senior players like myself coaching teams, and think more of us need to get involved with the younger players. I am really looking forward to the future of womens cricket and I think it could one day turn professional if we keep working on it. I am really looking forward to flying down to Christchurch in November/December to support the Clear White Ferns in their quest to win the world cup on home soil. There is only one thing that I would like to see and that is more advertising needs to be done to encourage people especially players to come along and support their national teams. I think more advertising and television courage is needed to encourage not only players but cricket fans to came and watch and support the womens game. I would like to wish all the womens teams at the world cup the best of luck especially the White Ferns and I hope you enjoy every moment of it. Good Luck. Well done on the good job you are doing promotioning womens cricket. Yours Sincerely Angela Coyle Auckland

A touring team from Northers visited Bulawayo recently to play against the Matabeleland ladies team. Although still lacking technically they certainly made up for it in enthusiasm. It was a great experience and we thank all involved. It is good to see our neighbours also embracing womans cricket. Good luck in future! Any comments about the South African Ladies team as announced for the world cup?

I have been hearing rumours that Jamaica issued a postage stamp depicting a woman cricketer about two years ago. If anyone has any information, or better still knows where I can obtain a copy, I'd be glad to hear from them at
